NetApp is seeking a “rock star” to join its Global Procurement team with the role of SSD Global Procurement Analyst.
This role will report into the Director of Global Procurement for Mass Storage and will partner with the Sr Global Procurement Manager in managing procurement of Solid State Drives (SSDs). SSDs represent the largest material spend category at NetApp. The role has senior executive visibility with a strong path to growth.
The ideal candidate should be a high performer, quick learner, great communicator who can balance detailed, analytical thinking with strategic thought leadership and business acumen.
The SSD procurement analyst will be an expert of the storage semiconductor industry who will seek opportunities to drive efficiency and innovation within our procurement practices. The success of the individual in this role can meaningfully impact NetApp’s bottom line.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Strategy:
- Support the SSD Commodity manager in developing and implementing procurement strategies in alignment with company priorities, resource constraints, and project timelines.
- Supplier Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with SSD vendors and manufacturers. Lead supplier negotiations on legal terms, pricing, delivery, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- SSD Cost Analytics project
- The Analyst will take a lead role in partnering with internal and external stakeholder to build a predictive analytics model to more accurately forecast SSD market pricing
- Supply Continuity management:
- Work with Supply Chain to analyze SSD demand forecasts and align purchasing activities with suppliers accordingly to ensure optimal inventory levels.
- Cost Optimization:
- Continuously seek opportunities to reduce costs through competitive tension, volume leverage, alternative sourcing, or contract renegotiation.
- Market Intelligence:
- Track SSD industry trends, including NAND pricing, lead times, lifecycle changes, and innovation (e.g., QLC/TLC NAND, PCIe Gen updates), and translate insights into procurement strategies.
- Data & Reporting:
- Update cost engines, manage industry analyst inputs, and support supplier business reviews. Generate regular reports on spend analysis, procurement KPIs, and risk assessments.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, Product Management, and Finance teams to support cost targets, product lifecycle requirements and timely delivery.
Job Requirements
- Proficient in procurement tools and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Passion for global sourcing and managing internationally based suppliers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of SSD technologies, storage protocols (e.g., NVMe, SATA, SAS), and SSD application in high-density server environments.
- Proficient in predictive analytics tools such as Python, SQL, etc
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in hardware procurement
- Professional certifications such as Lean Six Sigma, CPM, CPSM, or APICS are a plus.
Education
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field with 2+ years of procurement or supply chain experience, preferably in the tech or electronics sector is required.
- MBA, Master’s degree in Engineering, Management, Statistics or other related fields is preferred.
Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is 69,700 - 103,730 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
