The Waisman Center is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge about human development, developmental disabilities, and neurodegenerative diseases throughout the lifespan. One of 15 centers of its kind in the United States, the Waisman Center encompasses laboratories for biomedical and behavioral research, several scientific research cores, and a clinical biomanufacturing facility for the production of pharmaceuticals for early-stage human clinical trials. In addition to its research efforts, the Center provides an array of services to people with developmental disabilities, offers numerous educational and outreach programs to young children and their families, and trains scientists and clinicians who will serve our nation in the future.The WISC Lab focuses on the study of speech development and disorders in children with neuromotor disorders. We conduct behavioral studies of development and use advanced modeling approaches to characterize multidimensional variables.

1Qualifications:
Enrollment in a doctoral program focused on mathematical, statistical, or computational sciences (e.g., Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Math, Computer Science, Engineering).Strong foundation in probability, statistical modeling, and computing.
Demonstrated experience programming in R, Python, or similar. Prior experience managing complex datasets.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
The ideal candidate will have completed advanced coursework in statistics, mathematics, and computing, and will have extensive programming experience applied to real-world data. They should be comfortable contributing to complex modeling and programming projects both independently and as part of a team. Proficiency with version control tools (e.g., Git) and experience managing analysis workflows in collaborative research settings are highly desirable. Experience with hierarchical models, longitudinal data, or health-related datasets is a plus. Strong communication skills and an interest in the science of speech development or related areas are preferred.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Work with research team to develop data analysis approaches with team members to address key research questions related to speech development and disorders. Additionally, this position will develop advanced statistical models to address research questions. (100%)
