Highland Homes is currently accepting resumes for a Financial Systems & Data Analytics Manager role. The Financial Systems and Data Analytics Manager will take ownership of the administration, technical management, and optimization of the Oracle EPM/PBCS system. This role will work closely with Finance leadership to enhance the use of Power BI and other data tools. This position will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and usability of the team’s data applications to support budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and management reporting processes. The role is pivotal in advancing the reporting and analytics capabilities within Finance and Accounting. It requires both a hands-on and strategic approach to establish clear policies around data governance, data definitions, and mechanizing controls and documentation surrounding report creation and availability.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • System Management & Oversight: Administer and optimize Oracle EPM applications to ensure seamless performance and data integrity. This includes managing routine tasks such as project setup, hierarchy creation, user access, report management, and updating budgeting and forecasting periods, while maintaining an organized and efficient system.
  • Reporting Leadership: Work closely with Finance leadership, including CFO, VP Finance, and FP&A Manager to design, develop, and manage advanced financial reporting solutions, including dashboards, ad-hoc reports, and executive-level analytics leveraging Oracle EPM applications (e.g., PBCS, Hyperion Financial Reporting, Smart View, Essbase, Data Management) and Power BI.
  • Training & Support: Develop training programs and documentation to empower end-users in leveraging reporting tools and Oracle EPM functionalities effectively.
  • Hierarchy Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of company hierarchies, chart of accounts, and accounting schedules, and how they work within FP&A, accounting and financial reporting processes (e.g., income statement, balance sheet, KPIs).
  • Reporting: Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting to internal leadership, board of directors, and banks.
  • Process Optimization: Partner with Finance and Accounting teams to streamline reporting, planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes by leveraging Oracle EPM applications.
  • Usability Improvement: Partner with the Finance and Accounting teams to identify and prioritize key opportunities for improvement of reporting capabilities including incorporating additional financial information and key operating metrics into Oracle EPM. This includes exploring the use of additional cubes (e.g., Operational, Financial, Staff), optimizing month-end load processes, and streamlining data flows for improved efficiency and reporting accuracy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field including one of the following: Finance, Accounting, or Management Information System.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in financial systems and reporting, with a minimum of 4 years focused on Oracle EPM (e.g., Hyperion, PBCS, Smartview, HFM, Essbase).
  • Oracle EPM administration experience is required, including metadata management, data management setup and maintenance, cube view setup and maintenance, and user security setup and maintenance.
  • Proven expertise in designing and delivering financial reports and analytics in a corporate environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, FP&A, GAAP Accounting practices and consolidation processes.
  • Homebuilding experience preferred.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Expertise in Oracle EPM modules (e.g., Planning, Budgeting, Financial Consolidation, Essbase) with a strong emphasis on reporting capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Hyperion reporting tools (e.g., Financial Reporting Studio, Smart View) and experience with multidimensional database management.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills.
  • Experience with Scripting & Integration (e.g., MaxL, Calculation Scripts).
  • Knowledge of complementary systems (e.g., Oracle ERP, Power BI, Tableau) is advantageous.
