Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly analytical and driven Data Analyst to join our Product team. On the Product team at PENN Entertainment, our mission is to develop high-quality and sustainable data-driven solutions to improve our digital products and user experience. As a Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in uncovering insights, ensuring data integrity, and driving data-informed decisions about our products. Your expertise in SQL and data modeling will help shape the way we understand and optimize our products. You should have relentless curiosity about the numbers behind our business and the determination to question data until it’s right.  

 

As a key member of our Product Analytics team, you will: 

  • Develop a deep understanding of how users interact with PENN Entertainment’s digital products, including apps, websites, and promotional tools.
  • Write complex SQL queries to extract, analyze, and validate data from multiple sources. 
  • Respond to ad hoc business questions by conducting deep-dive analyses within our data warehouse to help make impactful, data-driven decisions. 
  • Investigate data discrepancies, identify root causes, and ensure data accuracy.
  • Leverage product analytics tools (e.g. Mixpanel, Firebase) to provide insights. 
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to provide actionable insights. 
  • Challenge assumptions, question data integrity, and drive continuous improvement in data quality. 
  • Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: 

  • 3+ years of related professional experience.
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to write optimized queries for large datasets. 
  • Strong experience with data modeling and working with relational databases. 
  • Exposure to cloud data warehouses such as Azure, Snowflake, or BigQuery. 
  • A passion and curiosity for solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches.
  • Ability to take complex data and present it in a clear and simple manner for business impact.
  • Ability to think critically and challenge assumptions in data. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Experience in the casino or gaming industry, with an understanding of key industry metrics. 
  • Familiarity with analysis tools; R or Python packages are preferred.
