What is a day in the life of a Data Engineer?

• Identify and analyze challenges within the ecommerce landscape, and develop effective and sustainable solutions.

What will I need to thrive in this role?

• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, business administration, strategy, economics or related field

• 1-3 years of progressive professional experience as an analyst, consultant, planner, and/or product manager

• Advanced capabilities in Excel, SQL, Tableau, and Python with strong visual reporting skills

• Exceptional analytical abilities, preferably within ecommerce 

• Proven success in process improvement, creative problem solving, and business strategy

What does success look like in the first 30, 60, 90 days?

First 30 Days:

• Onboarding and Training: Familiarize yourself with Pattern's systems, tools, and processes. Attend orientation sessions and meet with key team members to understand the company's culture and expectations.

• Understand Key Projects: Begin reviewing current projects and data reports to understand the scope and objectives. Shadow team members to gain insights into daily operations and challenges.

First 60 Days:

• Active Contribution: Start contributing to ongoing projects by providing data analysis and insights. Develop initial reports and dashboards under the guidance of senior team members.

• Identify Opportunities: Analyze existing processes and identify areas for improvement. Propose initial ideas for process enhancements or new strategies.

First 90 Days:

• Lead Initiatives: Take ownership of a project or initiative, driving it from conception to execution. Demonstrate your ability to manage tasks independently and deliver results.

• Performance Review: Participate in a performance review with your manager to discuss achievements, challenges, and areas for development. Set goals for the next quarter based on feedback.

What is the team like?

• You will work with the other Analytics and Business Intelligence professionals and be supervised by the Director of Product. This team is data driven and results oriented. You will collaborate regularly with members of your team to implement actionable solutions. Ideas and input are encouraged from all members.
