We are looking for a Data Engineering Lead

Target total compensation ranges from $375,000 - $515,000, including a fixed annual salary of $250,000 - $315,000, an employee equity plan grant, and world-class benefits. 

Equity grants are issued in good faith, subject to company policies, board approval, and individual eligibility.

We’re looking for a Data Engineering Lead to join our Identity team—one of the most impactful and technically challenging areas of our platform. This team owns the systems responsible for resolving customer identity across channels and sources, at massive scale.This person will be pivotal in shaping the architecture and performance of our data systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency.

About the Role:

• Design and optimize scalable, high-performance data pipelines using Apache Spark and Kubernetes.
• Lead architectural decisions across batch and streaming systems, integrating cloud-native and NoSQL technologies.
• Implement automated data governance, data quality, and lineage frameworks to ensure trusted and compliant data.
• Partner with product, ML, and analytics teams to deliver robust data infrastructure that powers real-time and large-scale use cases.
• Contribute as a hands-on technical lead while mentoring teammates and sharing best practices.

Requirements

About You:

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a track record of building and optimizing distributed data systems.
• Strong proficiency in Spark, with the ability to tune performance and debug complex pipelines at scale.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized data processing environments.
• Familiarity with cloud-native architecture (AWS preferred), ETL design patterns, data lakes, and ML compute frameworks.
• Experience integrating streaming technologies like Kafka or Flink into production systems.
• Skilled at system design using both relational and NoSQL databases.
• A collaborative mindset with strong communication skills and a passion for mentoring and teaching.
• A desire to lead technically while being a hands-on IC.
