The mission of the Director, Planning Development

The Director, Demand Planning will be responsible for leading and evolving Cozey’s demand planning function, with a strong focus on leveraging AI, technology, and advanced analytics to forecast demand with precision and agility. This individual will work cross-functionally with teams across Operations, Marketing, Product, and Finance to ensure that demand forecasts drive business decisions at both strategic and tactical levels. The ideal candidate is a rigorous, tech-savvy problem-solver with a passion for building smart, adaptive forecasting processes in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. What you'll be doing

  • Forecasting & Analytics: Lead the development of demand forecasts at multiple levels (SKU, category, channel and location) using statistical models, machine learning tools, and business inputs.
  • AI & Tech Integration: Implement AI-powered forecasting and planning solutions. Champion the adoption of technology to automate and enhance demand planning using constraints such as space.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with key teams (Operations, Finance, Marketing, Product) to gather insights, align on assumptions, and ensure plans support company objectives.
  • Scenario Planning & Agility: Build flexible demand scenarios to support decision-making under uncertainty. Rapidly adapt forecasts in response to market signals and internal inputs.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve the demand planning process by identifying inefficiencies, automating manual tasks, and standardizing reporting tools.
  •  Inventory & Supply Alignment: Translate demand plans into inventory strategies in close collaboration with the supply and operations teams.
  • Performance Measurement: Monitor forecast accuracy, develop KPIs, and provide recommendations to improve performance and reduce bias.

We'd love to hear from you if you have 

  • Master’s in data science, applied statistics, economics, finance, engineering. PhD is a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or analytics roles; experience in DTC, retail, or CPG preferred.
  • Proficiency in forecasting and statistical tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, R, Python) and experience with AI/ML-driven demand planning platforms.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a rigorous attention to detail and ability to distill complex data into clear insights.
  • Demonstrated success leading S&OP processes and aligning cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to pivot quickly in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong project management skills and experience leading change initiatives.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence and drive alignment across departments.
