The Opportunity:  

Join CACI as a Journeyman Data Engineer to support mission-critical data engineering efforts within the A&E team for USSTRATCOM. You will build and maintain data pipelines, ensure data integrity, and contribute to enterprise database management, leveraging expertise in the Enterprise Data Model (EDM) to deliver scalable solutions in a dynamic, high-impact environment. The work location is Omaha, Nebraska, with the position contingent upon contract award. 

 

Responsibilities: 

Data Engineer, Journeyman:  

  • Ensures data quality and integrity through data validation, cleansing, and error handling 

  • Builds and maintains the entire data pipeline, including data ingestion, transformation, storage, and access, making data readily available for analysis 

  • Provides comprehensive Enterprise Database Management and Administration in support of USSTRATCOM operations  

  • Uses data modeling tools to administer the Enterprise Data Model (EDM) to complete and deliver data definition language, and physical, and logical model objects  

  • Possesses and applies expertise on multiple, complex work assignments 

  • Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks 

  • Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to  

 

Qualifications: 

Required:

  • Education/Experience: BA/BS + 5 years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.  

  • Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility 

  • Required 8140 Certification: 421 - Basic (e.g., CompTIA Security+, GSEC) OR applicable ABET-accredited/CAE-designated degree OR equivalent training OR Foundational Qualification Alternative (DoD Component Waiver).  

  • Required Certification: Must obtain one of the following certifications within 6 months of hire: Snowflake SnowPro Advanced: Data Engineer, Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Oracle Certified Professional, MySQL 8.0 Database Administrator 

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.  

  • Proven ability to lead data engineering initiatives in fast-paced, mission-critical environments while managing multiple priorities. 

 

Desired: 

  • Open CA Certified Architect  

  • Open CA Certified Data Scientist  

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate)  

  • Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$65,000 - $136,500
