GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Performs complex (journey-level) data analysis and data reporting work. Work involves designing, developing, and maintaining database reports that provide key insights and support decision-making processes within the agency. Collaborates closely with stakeholders to understand their reporting needs, extract and analyze data from various sources, and deliver effective, visually appealing, and interactive reports. Ensures data quality by analyzing the content, structure, and relationships within data to identify data gaps, errors, anomalies, inconsistencies, and redundancies. May train others on the development and querying of data reports.
Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. May work in excess of 40 hours per work week and some travel may be required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Designs, builds, tests, and generates reports utilizing information databases; reviews, revises formats, and analyzes data to ensure information meets user needs.
Assists in defining, developing, and implementing data standards. Assists in developing data quality measures, analyzing data quality results, and implementing necessary changes to ensure data quality improvement.
Prepares concise, comprehensive technical reports to present and interpret data, identify alternatives, and make and justify recommendations on data revisions.
Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
Utilizes software to generate metrics and develops actionable recommendations; identifies, manages, and discovers process improvements as they relate to reporting delivery
Collaborates with various stakeholders to identify needs for reporting. Collaborates closely with technical support, database administrators, software developers, and other business groups
Trains new and existing staff on how to develop and/or use queries, including the development of training materials.
Aids in data discovery for cleanup activities with users and project teams
Ensures successful conversion of reports during/following system upgrade
Performs a variety of related duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.
Performs all duties in compliance with agency safety policies and procedures:
· Reports safety hazards and corrects hazards when possible.
· Completes required documentation in the event of an accident/injury within requested time frames.
Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency attendance and leave policies.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree. Six (6) years of full-time wage-earning experience that may be a combination of implementing and managing database systems, data warehouses, data analytics work.
OR
High School diploma or equivalent. Ten (10) years of full-time wage-earning experience that may be a combination of implementing and managing database systems, data warehouses, or data analytics work.
Preferred:
· Experience designing, developing and maintaining data marts and data warehouses.
· Experience with Power BI reporting tool;
· Experience with SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Analysis Services, SQL Server Integration Services and SQL Server Reporting Services.
· Bachelor’s degree with major course work in data processing, computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, business administration, or a related field.
· Experience working for a governmental entity.
Experience and Education Substitutions:
· One year of appropriate experience may substitute for one year of college (30 course hours) on a year for year basis.
· Completed course hours of undergraduate study may substitute for up to four years of experience on a basis of 30 course hours for one year of experience.
· Completed course hours of graduate study may substitute for up to two years of experience on a basis of 12 graduate course hours for one year of experience.
· Pro-rated part-time experience may satisfy the experience requirement.
Note: Any degree, diploma, high school equivalent, or course hours required to meet minimum qualifications must be from an accredited educational institution.
