Software Engineer 2 - Member Technical Staff

 

This position is onsite/hybrid in our Pleasanton, CA office - remote option is not available for this role.

At the heart of this innovation is the Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI) platform—our next-generation evolution of Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse. Purpose-built for Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, bringing together business data, ready-to-use analytics, and prebuilt AI and machine learning (ML) models to deliver deeper insights and accelerate the decision-making process into actionable results. We are looking for a passionate and skilled Data Engineer to join the FDI team. In this role, you’ll build and operate massive-scale, integrated cloud services that power our next-gen analytics platform. You'll work on a "lights-out" data pipeline—the backbone of FDI—that manages the data warehouse for customers across the globe. This is a rare opportunity to work on deeply technical problems in a cloud-native, multi-tenant environment where your work will directly impact thousands of customers and millions of users.

 

What You’ll Do?

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, resilient, and highly available data systems.
  • Build large-scale distributed data pipelines that power automated data ingestion, transformation, and warehousing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, architects, and QA to deliver high-impact features.
  • Drive innovation in data engineering best practices, architecture, and tooling within a cloud-native environment.
  • Ensure system security, performance, and reliability in a multi-tenant SaaS setup.

 

Qualifications:

  • BS or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent with 2+ years of applied experience
  • Strong programming skills in Scala, and Java
  • Experience in Big-Data area, preferably Spark/Parquet
  • Strong foundational knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and computer science fundamentals
  • Should be able to write SQL queries and have experience working with database through Java/Scala
  • Be a champion for CI/CD and development best practices, especially around automation and testing
  • Experience building high-performance, resilient, scalable and well-engineered systems
  • A creative and growth mindset and willingness to solve challenging problems and learn new skills on the job
  • Good communication skills, with ability to clearly articulate engineering designs
  • Prior experience with Oracle Cloud, or Oracle Analytics is a big plus

As a member of the software engineering division, you will apply basic to intermediate knowledge of software architecture to perform software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $73,700 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
