What You’ll Be Doing
The US Data Management Office is responsible for establishing data as a strategic asset for CIBC US Region, further enhancing data governance, building out our data and analytic capabilities, and developing the US Region data management strategy. Our strategy is to leverage data and analytics to build competitive advantage to enhance our client focus. To facilitate this, we will improve our data quality through focused data governance programs and processes, use new data technology to increase agility, reduce cost and become an analytics leader, focusing on continuous advancement. This position involves working with our internal partners to deliver insightful business intelligence reporting as well as find ways to streamline and automate complex and often manual processes with the help of the latest BI and automation tools. This position will work closely with the Bank’s Finance department to understand their data needs and specialized data systems, as well as assist with monthly reconciliation activities. This position will also work with various stakeholders throughout the Bank on new data initiatives to help them navigate the requirements needed to source and integrate new data with our client data warehouse.

How You’ll Succeed
Client Engagement- Partner with internal stakeholders across multiple departments to learn their business processes and data needs.
Leveraging Technology - Design Business Intelligence reports and dashboards that leverage the Bank’s data to deliver key insights to help drive business performance. Work with our stakeholders to understand their desired end goal and guide them to the most appropriate solution. Increase efficiency by working with stakeholders to eliminate repetitive, manual processing using the latest tools.
Data Risk Mitigation - Help mitigate data risk by working with our internal partners to eliminate unnecessary data overexposure in reports and implement automation in reporting to avoid manual data manipulation.
Data Governance - Be an ambassador for strong data governance throughout the organization by promoting and adhering to established data governance policies.
Strategic Minded - Conduct assessments of all new reporting and adhoc data requests to determine how the business will be using data to ensure effectiveness and compliance with policies and standards.
Project Participation - Participate in cross-departmental data initiatives where appropriate.
Who You Are
You have a degree/diploma in accounting, finance, Information Sciences, or a related field. 1-3 years of experience of Business Intelligence reporting in financial services or related sector along with a strong understanding of relational database queries and proficiency in Excel, PowerBI, Tabelau, SQL, Alteryx, or other industry standard BI tools. You’re innovative, technologically inclined, seek out innovative solutions, embrace evolving technologies and can easily adapt to new tools and trends.
You are a strong communicator. Stellar interpersonal, communication (oral and written) and problem-solving skills, including effective engagement with all levels of the organization, including senior management,
You're self-driven and self-sufficient. You are self-directed and self-driven with strong analytical, logical, reasoning and problem-solving skills.
You have a Finance mind. You have a broad and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of banking operations and finance.
You understand that success is in the details. You notice things that others don't. Your critical thinking skills help to inform your decision making.

Total Rewards
At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $80,000 - $92,000 for the Chicago market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
