May 7, 2025OpportunityJoin our Risk Management Group within the Quantitative Analytics & Risk Reporting (QAR) team, where you will focus on enabling investment risk capabilities. You'll work with multiple risk models, decomposition, measurement, reporting, and analysis to deliver valuable risk insights.Leveraging your financial and risk knowledge, coupled with strong technical and quantitative capability, you will influence and enable a consistent view for all risk managers in estimating the overall market, credit and liquidity risk, and exposure across all asset classes. This will contribute to a best-in-class investment risk management capability.
As a manager within the team, you will be responsible for delivering a holistic and consistent view of risks for various asset classes enabling AIMCo to integrate risk management with portfolio management through quantitative approaches within a maturing controls environment. You will champion and shape the full end-to-end ability to enable our risk managers and investment teams by creating practical solutions for investment professionals. This includes requirements, methodology definition, implementation, design, testing, and delivery. You will have the chance to collaborate with risk managers, portfolio managers, and other stakeholders within and outside of the organization.

Responsibilities Include:Taking a lead role within a team environment to generate risk metrics and advanced analytics that provides risk insights to assist with risk management and business decision making
Monitoring risk measurements against limits and controls, and investigating or escalating breaches as needed.
Validating and interpreting risk measurements on a regular basis and provide commentary and insights on changes in portfolios, risk profiles and markets
Developing visualization and risk reports required for the total fund, clients, asset classes and products
Optimizing and productionizing in-house developed models and tools
Provide analytical support to various stakeholders as required
Collaborating with Business Technology and external vendors to bring continued improvements and innovation to risk systems and processes
Bachelor’s degree in relevant quantitative field (ex: Financial Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Business/Finance, Economics, Computer Science); graduate degree is an asset
5+ years of experience working in financial industry in capacities of risk management, reporting/analytics, and quantitative modeling
Strong understanding of financial products including derivatives, and quantitative risk models such as market, credit, liquidity risks
Advanced working knowledge in Python, SQL, Excel (VBA), and other programming tools
Prior experience with data engineering, visualization and reporting through PowerBI
Prior developer experience with databricks/Python is an asset
Professional designation (ex: CFA, FRM, PRM) is an asset

As the successful candidate, you will play a key role in defining, developing, evaluating and producing, the methodologies, measures, monitoring and reporting of investment risk under a consistent approach for all investments under the total fund and for all AIMCo Clients.
