Job Description:

As a Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, security, and proper management of USAREUR-AF data assets. You will support the development and enforcement of data standards, perform data process mapping, and identify key information Theater exchanges across USAREUR-AF systems and organizations to support mission command and enterprise-level data integration. Expertise in Maven Smart Systems (MSS) or other Army data platforms, particularly in workflow development, is essential to embedding governance practices into operational and analytical environments.

HOW A DATA ANALYST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Implement and monitor data governance policies and standards across USAREUR-AF data domains.
  • Conduct data process mapping to document how data flows across systems, units, and operations.
  • Identify and document key information exchanges between mission systems, business systems, and external partners.
  • Develop, refine, and manage workflows within Maven Smart Systems (MSS) and additional Army data platforms to enable automated, compliant data processes.
  • Integrate data governance controls, metadata standards, and access policies into MSS workflows.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and ensure data quality.
  • Document and catalog APIs and data sharing agreements to improve transparency and interoperability across systems.
  • Support metadata management, data lineage tracking, and data catalog initiatives.
  • Collaborate with data stewards, system owners, and functional representatives to resolve data quality and interoperability issues.
  • Ensure compliance with Army and DoD data governance frameworks, including cybersecurity and data protection requirements.
  • Participate in working groups and governance boards focused on Theater enterprise data and analytics strategy and information sharing.
  • Support data classification, access control, and master data management initiatives.


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Management, or a related discipline.
  • Required Experience: 3–5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or data architecture.
  • Required Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with Maven Smart Systems (MSS ), or other Army data platforms including workflow design and integration. Experience with data process mapping tools (e.g., Microsoft Visio, BPMN tools) and methodologies. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define data needs, standards, and governance protocols. Experience documenting APIs, managing data sharing agreements, and ensuring secure data interoperability.
  • Security Clearance Level: Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret
  • Required Skills and Abilities: Understanding of Army operational and business information flows and interoperability challenges. Familiarity with data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK) and Army/DoD data policy. Preferred: Experience working with Army enterprise data platforms such as Army Vantage, Maven, and Army Intelligence Data Platform (AIDP). Strong communication, collaboration, and technical documentation skills. Excels at working in a collaborative team environment 
  • Certification: Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, CISM)

The likely salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
