We’re looking for an Imaging System Engineer to join Spectacles at Snap Inc!

What you’ll do:

  • Work with cross-functional teams to help define and optimize imaging system solutions to enhance image quality for different cameras with different performance targets and tradeoffs from both hardware and software perspectives 

  • Develop and optimize camera control algorithms including auto exposure, auto white balance, etc.

  • Evaluate, tune and test image sensor, camera software, imaging pipelines and software imaging enhancement algorithms

  • Propose system and algorithmic design changes to improve imaging system performance for different applications

  • Diagnose and solve sensor, image signal processor and imaging software issues 

  • Develop tools for image quality and 3A tuning, testing and evaluation 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong imaging fundamentals including image quality, camera image signal processing, and image sensors 

  • Experience with imaging system design and developing camera control algorithms like AE, AWB

  • In-depth knowledge of camera and ISP functionalities and tuning 

  • Experience with image sensor technologies and imaging system integration

  • Experience with embedded systems, Android, and Embedded Linux OS 

  • Excellent communications skills and a strong teammate; self-motivated and able to work independently in a dynamic environment 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Imaging Science, Color Science, or relevant fields

  • 7+ years of experience with imaging systems on major ISP platforms

  • Experience with image processing using MATLAB, Python, etc. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s or doctoral degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Imaging Science, Color Science, or relevant fields 

  • Experience with successfully designing and implementing camera control and imaging algorithms for a product

  • Experience with computer vision, machine learning related with image/video processing

  • Experience with C and C++

  • Experience with manufacturing related image sensor, lens, camera module testing and calibration

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):

The base salary range for this position is $190,000-$284,000 annually.


 

Zone B:

The base salary range for this position is $181,000-$270,000 annually.

Zone C:

The base salary range for this position is $162,000-$241,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
