Agentic Business Intelligence Development Internship

12-week internship starting May 2025

Hybrid in Portland, OR

Primary Job Purpose:

The Agentic Business Intelligence Development Intern will explore emerging AI and analytics technologies that support practical business intelligence or data platform development initiatives. This role combines hands-on learning with real-world application of AI agents, focusing on discovering innovative solutions for data analysis and automation. The position provides exposure to enterprise-level business intelligence while developing skills in emerging technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Researches and evaluates AI agent technologies for business intelligence applications

• Helps identify potential use cases for AI agents in development and operations processes

• Makes semantic layer modeling recommendations

• Assists in developing and testing automated data analysis workflows

• Documents findings and creates proof-of-concept demonstrations

• Participates in team discussions and contributes to solution design

• Learns and applies business intelligence best practices

• Supports data visualization and reporting initiatives

• Collaborates with team members on various BI projects

Minimum Requirements:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Basic understanding of data analysis and business intelligence concepts

• Eagerness to learn new technologies and approaches

• Effective written and verbal communication abilities

• Basic programming or scripting knowledge (SQL, Python, Snowflake, Streamlit, Sigma, AWS)

• Familiarity with analytics data modeling concepts (i.e. Kimbal, Semantic Layers)

• Familiarity with Retrieval Augmented Generation concepts

• Ability to predict cost of compute across proposed execution steps

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail and organization skills

• Interest in artificial intelligence and automation technologies

Normally to be proficient in the competencies listed above:

The ideal candidate would be pursuing a master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or related field, with completion of at least 1 year of undergraduate studies. No prior work experience required, but demonstrated interest in AI and analytics through coursework or personal projects is preferred.

Work Environment:

Work primarily performed in a hybrid environment.
Must reside in Portland, Oregon the entire duration of this internship.
May be required to work outside of normal hours.

The base salary range is $32 - $40/hour, depending on experience.
