Sr. Data Engineer

What you will own:

• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional business requirements

• Harden, optimize, and productize ETL logic created by analysts to support business needs

• Maintain optimal data pipeline architecture, including looking for and proposing improvements to the existing architecture

• Engage with and bring insights to current projects 

• Assist analyst teams in identifying and gathering the best data to use to answer business questions

• Work to identify, design, and implement internal process improvements including: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery and re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability

• Work with business leaders to integrate new data sources and software solutions into the reporting environment

What you will need be successful:

• Advanced working SQL and relational database knowledge 

• Advanced working knowledge of modern cloud based data pipeline architecture (AWS, Snowflake, Databricks)

• Advanced working knowledge of Python, JS, or, another data-focused programming language

• Experience building and optimizing data pipelines in a near real-time environment

• Experience working with data ingestion tools or API integrations to pull data from and push data into various business software solutions

• Experience working directly with business process owners and analysts to create and maintain purpose-built data infrastructure

• Strong project management and organizational skills

• Ability to proactively identify opportunities for improvement and propose changes without specific instructions

• Excellent collaboration skills - ability to work effectively as part of a team

• 6+ years of experience in a Data Engineering role

• Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another data-centric discipline, or equivalent work experience.
