Position Summary: In this role, the Business Insights and Data Analyst will be a part of fostering a data-driven culture at Park State Bank. The individual will collaborate with internal stakeholders and departments to bridge gaps between technologies, workflows, and analytics across various systems. Key objectives include researching AI technologies, identifying AI agent opportunities, serving as a subject matter expert in data hierarchies, developing automated workflows, and measuring success through defined key performance indicators (KPIs).

Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  1. Partner with department leaders to manage technology products and associated projects/upgrades.
  2. Establish baseline metrics (KPIs) for “before” and “after” comparisons. Develop and implement measures to determine and monitor the effectiveness of projects or process improvements.
  3. Optimize or redesign process flows as applicable.
  4. Maintain detailed notes of ongoing department process improvement initiatives and track success.
  5. Collaborate with training staff regarding features and benefits of projects, products, and/or bank services.
  6. Conduct research on AI technologies and trends to inform business strategies.
  7. Identify opportunities for AI agent implementations and support their integration into business processes.
  8. Other duties may be assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and trends to inform business strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for AI agent implementations and support their integration into business processes.
  • Assist in interpreting data, analyzing results, and generating reports to support business decision-making.
  • Support the development and implementation of databases, data collection systems, and data analytics to improve data efficiency and quality.
  • Help acquire data from primary and secondary sources, ensuring the maintenance and integrity of databases and data systems.
  • Contribute to identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns in data sets to uncover actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with management to understand and prioritize business and information needs.
  • Assist in locating and defining opportunities for process improvement to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Document workflows and processes to improve data accessibility and ensure transparency for employees and regulators.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Will need to be able to manage stressful situations and function in a very fast-paced environment while remaining calm and precise. Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and enjoy working with the public. Will need to communicate in a clear, concise, and pleasant manner.

May, on occasion, must work longer hours than scheduled.

Must be able to meet deadlines, multi-task and adjust priorities, as necessary. Must possess strong organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with all levels of management and the Bank’s vendors. Must be a self-starter who challenges existing processes and can identify and implement efficiencies and cost-saving solutions. Will have access to and knowledge of all employees’ accounts, customer information, and the bank’s finances, so the ability to keep information confidential is extremely important.

The employee will be working in an indoor office setting in a light work situation (exerting up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects). Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access filing cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity equipment. Employees frequently communicate with employees, customers, and vendors. Will be required to travel to branches within region on a weekly basis, so must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Must be able to exchange accurate information both orally and written in English. Employees will be required to travel to branches located within the region.

Despite ongoing security training, there is always the possibility of a bank robbery.

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:


Required Technical Experience:

  • Proficient in comprehending and understanding data object hierarchies to support data analysis and reporting.
  • Comfortable with reading XML and using SOAP or Rest APIs for data integration and maintenance.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PHP, R) for data analysis and automation.
  • Skilled in extracting, analyzing, interpreting, and acting upon data to identify trends, improve processes, enhance operational efficiency, and support fraud prevention.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint for data visualization and presentation.
  • Pluses:
  • Experience with PowerShell for automation and scripting tasks.
  • Proficiency in SQL Server for database management and querying.
  • Background in the financial or banking industry, providing context for data analysis and business insights.


Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and / or demonstrated equivalent experience.
