We’re seeking a talented Data Risk Services Lead to join the Data Risk team within our NZ Risk division.
As a Data Risk Services Lead, you will play a key role in providing Data Governance and Data Risk Services to New Zealand stakeholders.
Collaborating with the Data Risk Adoption and Oversight team, you will provide technical and practical leadership to enhance risk management processes, aligning them with industry best practices, and prioritising Data Risk Services based on customer value and data risk maturity requirements.
This role includes people leadership responsibilities with two direct reports, and fostering a collaborative team culture together with the Data Risk Adoption and Oversight team based in New Zealand.
What will your day look like?
As a Data Risk Services Lead, you are accountable for:

Provide technical and practical leadership to enhance risk management processes, aligning them with industry best practices.

Manage Data Risk assurance services including Data Quality Issue Management triage support, Critical data management guidance, Data Impact Assessment and Record Retention & Disposal (RR&D) Information Assets Schedule review.

Develop a service priority plan based on delivery of customer value and engage with the Adoption & Oversight team and key stakeholders to align and manage interdependencies with data risk maturity requirements.

Liaise with Group and the Adoption and Oversight team to develop a set of Data Management control requirement to support automation of business glossary, lineage/metadata capture and data quality management and to develop a set of control requirements to support robust Record Retention & Disposal Information Assets Schedule review process.

Work with key stakeholders (internal team, BG&C, DS&M and Group) to develop an effective engagement model to prioritise Data Risk assurance services.

Produce Data management analytics for the Adoption and Oversight team.

Provide expert advice and technical guidance on Data management practices.

Engage with the Bengaluru GCC to leverage global best practices and ensure alignment with the broader organizational goals.

Lead, manage, and develop a team of Data Risk professionals.

Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
What will you bring?
-
Bachelor’s degree in information management, Data Engineering, or a related field.
-
10+ years’ experience in Data Governance and Data Risk management processes including critical data management to build data controls for business glossary, metadata, lineage & data quality management.

Understanding of Non-Financial Risk Framework within ANZ and/or other global banks.

Strong knowledge of the NZ Regulatory environment (CPG235, BCBS239, NZ records retention obligations and Privacy regulations).

Proficiency in data management tools and techniques.

Understanding of Information Technology/Data Architecture

Proven experience in planning and prioritisation to deliver the best outcomes.

Ability to build strong, open, collaborative working relationships with stakeholders.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

A problem solver with the ability to see the bigger picture and identify trends.

Solid experience in Agile practices.

Experience in team building and people management.
