Motorola Solutions Video Intelligence development unit specializes in data and image analytics, and system solutions. Our image capture and analysis platform, which comprises fixed, mobile, and application-based hardware and software solutions powered by machine learning and artificial intelligence, delivers AI-driven metadata to our public safety and enterprise client.

Job Description

The Video Intelligence Product Development team is seeking an experienced and adept engineering leader or principal architect to spearhead the transformation of test strategy and methodology, with a focus on test automation and release readiness. The selected candidate will possess strong collaborative and interpersonal skills, enabling them to effectively balance stakeholder interests and deliver upon commitments. The candidate will contribute to a culture of respect and maintain high standards of productivity and accountability. Based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, the successful candidate will integrate test automation expertise into the team and drive the evolution of our release readiness methodology to align with our Agile development practices.

Responsibilities:

• Continuously enhance the quality of software and hardware products through the development, execution, and maintenance of comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts.

• Design and construct robust automated testing frameworks for the Video Intelligence engineering team, utilizing tools such as Robot Framework, Playwright, Python, PySpark, Spark, Scala, Shell scripting, JAVA, SQL, Hadoop, Hive, Jenkins, Helios, Azure, Linux, and Github.

• Manage the development and maintenance of a test management system encompassing load generation, data management, test automation execution, and reporting.

• Collaborate with the development team to deliver and integrate automation tests.

• Formulate and implement the strategy for end-to-end solution testing, ensuring reliable and robust processes.

• Establish and maintain automation test platforms driven via pipeline integration.

• Establish and maintain test platforms for manual and system-level testing.

• Develop and deploy tools for simulation and scalability testing.

• Direct and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative culture while providing technical guidance and support.

• Enhance productivity and efficiency through automation and metrics.

• Conduct the timely investigation, triage, and replication of reported issues.

• Interact regularly with support, development, and product management teams to resolve complex problems.

• Adhere to established processes and provide metrics to ensure high product quality.

• (Optional) Experience with Dynatrace, Prometheus, PagerDuty, Moog, Splunk, Elastic, Azure monitor, and Grafana.

Basic Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as computer science or engineering.

• Minimum 5-7 years of automation development experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a test organization focused on large software systems.

• Proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with cross-functional teams from various locations.

• Experience working with cloud-based software solutions.

• Experience with CI/CD methodologies and test automation to enable continuous integration.

• Minimum of 5 years of work experience in manual testing within system and functional test cycles.

• A collaborative team member with creative and innovative approaches to problem-solving.

• Ability to perform under pressure and function effectively in a fast-paced environment, providing strong technical leadership.

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

• Experience working with team members across multiple geographical regions.

• Proficiency in Vietnamese, with the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with the local team in Vietnam.

• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
