Introduction to Role:

The Global Clinical Supply Chain function is accountable for the supply of medicines to AstraZeneca’s clinical trials across the world. Our company’s portfolio of emerging new medicines means the portfolio of clinical trials that is critical to patients and our future success continues to grow with the aim of delivering 20 new medicines by 2030.

Within Clinical Supply Chain, as part of the Axial Programme powered by S/4HANA a new ERP system, preparations are underway relating to the Master data required to perform our key business processes for our current and future Clinical trial portfolio using the SAP platform.

Reporting to the Director Data Governance for Clinical Supply Chain and aligning closely with Clinical focussed colleagues working in the Axial program, you will lead a team aligned by core processes, (plan, source make deliver) focussing on identifying, preparing, confirming and creating master data related to the Clinical Program, Study and Product Supply portfolio. Your role will be to work with and lead the team as the detail data requirements emerge as the Axial programmes deliver to the timelines relevant for Clinical Supply Chain. Throughout this time you will also be considering the master data processes required in a post Axial business as usual environment.

Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

Lead a team of Master data experts and provide own knowledge and experience relating to clinical data, process and applications into both the architecture and operation of the systems currently in use for Clinical Supply Chain. Accountable for the local data identification, cleansing and enrichment activities required for the implementation of Axial ICSM/Core S4Hana Solution. Lead the development and creation of master data management processes relating to the ongoing business as usual operation of the SAP MDG, Core S4Hana and ICSM Solution.

· Receive Axial ICSM project guidance and timescales on Data Cleansing & Migration Activities

· Work alongside the Data Migration Expert on Cleansing & Enrichment activities and enrich in line with local data requirements

· Identify/confirm primary source application to support data extraction routines.

· Identify local approach to support Data Cleansing activities.

· Manage the local data cleansing activities and support execution of these activities.

· Accountable for Pre-Load Validation signoff and Post Data Load Validation Signoff (on behalf Data Governance Director for Clinical Supply Chain).

· Work with Migration Expert, Data Designers and Technology Teams leading and supporting the development of the mapping between the local system to the target Axial ICSM SAP S/4 application.

· Developing the approach to support local data maintenance when extracts have been executed during Mock Cycles and at cutover (e.g. dual maintenance – into Axial ICSM SAP S/4, or additional data collection templates).

· Lead the local approach to support Data Cleansing activities.

· Contribute to the design of local system data flows and integration requirements and technologies against the Axial ICSM solution

· Coordinate the resolution of Data Defects during Mock Cycles

· Provide support to Master data associates who may be involved in SIT & UAT Testing.

· Lead the development of ICSM/Core Data Maintenance processes under BAU for Clinical Supply Chain

Skills/Experience required:

· SAP Master data knowledge (MDG and ECC/S4)

· Business knowledge of Pharmaceutical Supply Chains.

· Awareness of GxP Requirements for Supply Chain Master Data

· Proven experience of leading a team.

· Proven experience of working to project milestones and deadlines.

· The ability to work in the details.

· Experience of communicating complex information at a senior level both verbally and written

· Demonstrated good time and stakeholder management

Desirable Skills/Experience:

· Clinical Supply Chain knowledge.
