Accountabilities

As a Senior Engineer responsible for AstraZeneca’s Enterprise IoT platform, you'll oversee the management and strategy for IoT Edge infrastructure. Responsibilities include:

• Managing configuration and provisioning of IoT devices at scale.
• Collaborating with internal developers for at-scale deployments, updates, and IoT topology support.
• Building software solutions for IoT devices and Edge device modules.
• Serving as a subject matter expert with in-depth knowledge of IoT devices, Edge devices, hardware gateways, IoT protocols, device security, onboarding, and provisioning.
• Consulting with technology organization members and sharing expertise on IoT solutions.
• Identifying and resolving bottlenecks and bugs.
• Collaborating with other platform teams to share domain experience.
• Ensuring technical solutions align with AstraZeneca’s reference technology standards.

Essential Skills/Experience

• Knowledge of IoT Edge Devices, Device Firmware, IoT cloud components (AWS), and distributed computing.
• Strong understanding of Linux, Unix systems, IP networks, and security methodologies (PKI, symmetric key attestations).
• Experience with scripting languages like Shell Scripts and Python.
• Expertise in building IoT device solutions, preferably in AWS.
• Proficiency in AWS cloud technologies (AWS Lambda, S3, RDS/No-SQL, AWS IoT CORE services).
• Skilled in programming languages such as Python, Node.js, with preference for frontend frameworks like React and Vue.js. Embedded device experience is plus.
• Understanding of information security techniques (PKI, TPM attestation, SSH key validation, TLS).
• Familiarity with IoT communication standards (MQTT, AMQP, Web Sockets, BLE, ZigBee, LoRaWAN).
• Experience with automation and configuration management tools like Terraform.
• Proficiency in source code management tools (SVN, Git, VSTS).
• Strong troubleshooting skills for fast-paced and high-impact environments.
• Knowledge of databases (NoSQL or SQL).
• Fundamentals of ML and experience in computer vision projects are a plus.

Desirable Skills/Experience

Candidates should have demonstrated ability with a strong focus on IoT Solution development, including Device gateway, AWS IoT core, and AWS technologies. A commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and delivering quality products is essential.
