Boeing Aerospace OperationsBoeing Global Services is currently hiring for an Associate or Mid-Level Industrial Engineer to become part of the F-15 EPAWSS Production Engineering team in San Antonio, TX.
Candidates should be comfortable working in a high pressure, fast paced environment. In this role you will have the opportunity to apply Industrial Engineering concepts to develop operating plans and recovery plans, conduct capacity and constraint-based analysis, develop and refine precedence networks, and conduct overall process effectiveness studies. You will also have opportunities to develop, implement, and improve processes focused on lowering costs and improving schedule performance and quality. Candidates must be able to operate within a multi-functional team, coordinating with various departments.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develops operating plans, precedence networks and recovery plans. Schedules work plans, conducts data analysis (historical, trends and production impacts).
- Develops models, databases and spreadsheets to analyze data (e.g., statistics, operations research, trend and production impacts), and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation to customers (e.g., management, senior leadership, other departments, suppliers).
- Develops, implements, and improves processes to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality through the application of Lean and other Industrial Engineering concepts.
- Uses engineering methods (e.g., mathematical models, simulations, statistics) to support the development of optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources (e.g., facilities, personnel, materials, equipment…) in the creation and validation of operating plan.
- Under general direction, analyzes and designs value streams, including capability, capacity throughput, work flow and logistics (e.g., critical path, lead-time, transportation, factory layout).
- Candidate must be able to interact with other employees to gather data for process improvements. This may include observing, documenting processes, and collecting data in manufacturing areas or on aircraft during various production phases.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 2+ years’ experience as an Industrial Engineer or Production Engineer in a factory environment
- 2+ years’ experience with precedence development, generating operating/recovery plans, capacity analysis
- 1+ years’ experience conducting Overall Process Effectiveness studies (ex: Time Study)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 5+ years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.) (Mid-Level)
- Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering or related engineering field from an ABET accredited university
- Aircraft / Aerospace industry experience. Familiarity with Manufacturing Operations, Manufacturing Planning, engineering drawings and specifications, and lean concepts (certifications preferred)
- 2+ years of experience with any of following programming languages: VBA, SQL, Python, SAS
