This position will lead a team of data stewards and analysts to effectively execute on data governance and reporting activities, providing first-line oversight of these activities for the Line of Business. The role will be responsible for the design of data management and governance standards to facilitate operational reporting, access to key performance indicators, and risk identification for the business line. The position will establish consistent and effective data governance program to include standard data definitions and documentation, data repository, and communication for data processes and approvals. Working closely with business leaders, this position will develop analytical tools and reports to assess and monitor business operations and results.

As a Manager, Business Line Data Governance and Reporting, you will: 

Data Governance Framework Development & Implementation

  • Ensure adoption of enterprise data governance frameworks, policies, and standards
  • Define and enforce data quality monitoring within the business unit, ensuring data consistency, accuracy and completeness
  • Establish data classification, ownership, and stewardship roles
  • Oversee data governance activities by keeping the enterprise data catalog accurate by working with data owners on:
    • tiering & classifying
    • data quality rules & data quality dashboards
    • business glossary terms, data dictionary entries, data lineage

Data Management & Tools

  • Monitor and report on compliance with data governance framework and standards 
  • Establish and enforces best practices for data quality, integrity, and security, proactively identifying and mitigating risks that could lead to audit findings
  • Directs team in conducting regular data reviews, implementing controls, and collaborating with stakeholders to integrate compliance into data management processes, ensuring a culture of regulatory compliance
  • Manage and optimize data workflows to improve operational efficiency
  • Stay up-to-date with data management, governance, and analytics tools as well as industry best practices

Reporting & Analytics

  • Design and manage data reporting processes to provide insights and support business decision-making
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy in reports and dashboards
  • Manage the development of analytical tools and frameworks to assess and monitor business results
  • Manage the report requirements intake process
  • Perform ongoing analysis of existing reporting for Line of Business usage responsible for decommissioning process on ‘no usage’ reporting

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, business units, Risk & Compliance) to ensure effective data governance practices
  • Lead and mentor data stewards and analysts
  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership
  • Ensure business line wide understanding of data management and reporting capabilities
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and managers to identify data reporting opportunities, share insights and deliver recommendations.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Business, Risk Management, IT or related field. Required.

Experience

  • 4+ years leading projects or teams focused on data management, data governance, or operational reporting. Required.
  • Experience using data governance platforms/tools such as Ataccama, Collibra, Informatica and Snowflake. Preferred.
