Job Description

An exciting opportunity for an Analyst has become available within our National Data Analytics department of ALDI stores, based in Minchinbury. This is a permanent full-time position

This pivotal role will see you immersing yourself in the captivating world of data at ALDI, a place where every number tells a story. As a part of our Data Analytics team, you'll be instrumental in using data-driven methods to transform vast amounts of raw data into valuable insights that guide our decision-making.

From machine learning to statistical modelling, you'll employ advanced techniques to dissect and understand complex data sets. And it's not just about analysis - it's about communication too. Through data visualisation, you'll transform intricate data into a form that's easily understandable, enabling informed decision-making across various sectors of our business.

Whether it's optimising our supply chain or enhancing our product offerings, your work will have a direct impact on the people who matter most - our customers.

What does the role look like?

  • Design and implement efficient data pipelines and architectures using SQL, Spark, and Python to support analytics and data initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions that meet business objectives
  • Optimise data workflows and processes for performance and scalability, ensuring timely access to data for stakeholders
  • Conduct data analysis and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues within data processing frameworks
  • Implementing automated measures to ensure data quality issues/errors in ETL are automatically prevented/detected and corrected
  • Advise and mentor team members on data standards, best practices, and promote a culture of reuse and stability

Qualifications

What do we need from you?

  • Demonstrated hands on experience as a developer designing, implementing, and optimising data pipelines across multiple platforms
  • Experience in requirements engineering, solution architecture, design, testing and deployment
  • Advanced demonstrated proficiency with data tools and platforms including SQL, Spark, Python, Databricks, Data Vault 2.0 and Microsoft Azure
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and business users
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in developing, testing and maintaining data pipelines and large data sets
  • Previous retail industry experience is highly desirable

Remuneration

  • Transparent tiered salary range of $139,200 - $158,800 including Superannuation
