LastPass is looking for a Senior Data Engineer:

We are seeking a skilled and pragmatic Senior Data Engineer to join our growing data team. This role focuses on building and maintaining the pipelines and infrastructure that enable analytics, machine learning, and data-driven decision-making across the organization. You’ll collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and product teams to ensure data is reliable, well-structured, and delivered with low latency and high integrity.

If you are passionate about complex problem solving and motivated by scale, then this is the role for you!

Who will you work with?

While the primary focus is engineering for our data warehouse, this role involves cross-functional collaboration with internal teams such as sales, marketing, product, finance, and product engineering.

What are some of the exciting challenges you will be working on?

  • Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines to extract data from internal and third-party systems into our data warehouse/lake environment.
  • Develop and optimize data models (e.g., dimensional models, star/snowflake schemas) to support reporting and analytics.
  • Ensure data quality and consistency through validation, monitoring, and observability practices.
  • Work with analysts and stakeholders to define data requirements and make raw data more usable across the business.
  • Manage and improve data infrastructure using modern tools (e.g., dbt, Spark, Databricks).
  • Implement and maintain data security and access controls in alignment with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Document data structures, pipeline logic, and operational procedures.
  • Support reverse ETL and integration workflows as needed to deliver data into downstream systems (e.g., Salesforce, Intercom).

What does it take to work at LastPass?

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data infrastructure role.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python; experience with PySpark is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), especially storage (S3, GCS) and compute (EC2, Lambda, Databricks).
  • Familiarity with data warehousing tools (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) and modern ELT tools (e.g., dbt, Fivetran, Airbyte).
  • Strong understanding of Kimball data modeling, schema design, and data normalization/denormalization.
  • Experience with CI/CD for data pipelines and version control systems such as GitLab.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and governance best practices.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional team.

It's great, but not required:

  • Experience administering Databricks
  • Background in AWS DevOps
