Description

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Data Consultant to work as a Power BI Lead and take ownership of an enterprise-wide reporting suite, built on Microsoft Power BI and underpinned by a modern Databricks data platform.

In this role, you’ll blend deep technical knowledge with stakeholder engagement, team leadership, and strategic thinking. You’ll design and deliver scalable, secure, and insightful reporting solutions that drive real business value while helping shape the future of enterprise reporting in a cloud-first data landscape.

What you'll be doing...

• Leading the design and implementation of an enterprise Power BI reporting architecture, including workspace strategy, governance, and security.
  
  
• Collaborating with stakeholders across the business to gather and refine requirements, translating them into meaningful reporting solutions.
  
  
• Defining and implementing robust governance practices including data access policies, RLS, and best practices for report development and deployment.
  
  
• Managing and mentoring a high-performing team of Power BI developers and analysts, promoting quality, consistency, and continuous learning.
  
  
• Creating scalable, high-performing data models and semantic layers using Power BI datasets, working closely with data engineers to optimize integration with Databricks.
  
  
• Driving end-to-end lifecycle management of reporting assets through deployment pipelines (Power BI Pipelines or CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps).
  
  
• Ensuring smooth integration across the Azure ecosystem, leveraging services like Data Lake, Synapse, and Purview where appropriate.
  
  
• Championing continuous improvement by identifying new features, trends, and opportunities for automation, self-service, and user enablement.
  
  
• Acting as a trusted advisor to the business, running workshops and demos to ensure reports meet user needs and deliver measurable outcomes. 

What you'll need to succeed...

• Power BI Expertise – Deep knowledge of Power BI features including DAX, Power Query, dataset modelling, and workspace management.
  
  
• Data Platform Experience – Hands-on experience with Databricks or modern data platforms like Snowflake or Synapse.
  
  
• Stakeholder Skills – Excellent communication and facilitation skills, able to engage confidently with senior leaders and business teams.
  
  
• Leadership – Proven ability to lead reporting teams, mentor junior developers, and collaborate across data engineering, governance, and IT functions.
  
  
• DevOps for BI – Familiarity with deployment pipelines, CI/CD, and automated report testing and publishing.
  
  
• Governance Knowledge – Understanding of enterprise data governance, information security, and reporting compliance standards.
  
  
• Strategic Thinking – A forward-looking mindset with a passion for enabling self-service analytics, standardising KPIs, and scaling BI across the organisation.
