We approach every...Applied Research Associates, Inc. is seeking summer interns to assist senior technical staff with research and analysis to support hard problems in the realms of physiological modeling/monitoring, artificial intelligence, and/or risk assessment. Interns will assist with the research and application of physiological models of human injury and recovery, interpreting biometric data, and/or transitioning models to software applications/analytical tools.
As an Intern, you will use your understanding of physiology, biomedical engineering, applied mathematics, computer science, or a similar field to assist senior staff with a variety of research tasks related to human health and readiness. Possible tasks include, but are not limited to, evaluating the state of the science, technology, and/or market for applications of wearables or biosensors, assisting in coordinating and conducting research studies, including preparing hardware and software, or assisting in data analysis and algorithm development. As an intern, you will have the chance to learn through close interactions with senior research scientists and engineers that will provide you with opportunities for technical exploration.

REQUIRED SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:
- Currently enrolled in college and having completed at least sophomore year or holding a college degree (BS preferred).
- 0-1 year of experience.
- Ability to work on discrete tasks independently.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Per contractual requirements, the candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- College GPA of 3.0 or greater (out of 4.0).
- Advanced classes in your field of study.
- Research experience with biometric sensors.
- Experience with data analysis and/or data science.
- Programming experience (Python, C++ or R).
- Proficiency with AI tools and technologies.
