Salary/Position Classification

  • $18.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 40 hours per week
  • 100% Remote Work Availability: No
  • Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Travel with a field crew to field sites and natural areas across the Great Plains and Pacific Northwest to conduct plant surveys and collect soil samples.
  • In-lab processing of soil and plant samples.
  • Assisting with creating and maintaining the project database in the R programming format for four years of data.

Required Competencies

  • Experience with data entry, database management, or coding in any platform (e.g. Excel, Python, Linnex, R)
  • Interest in any aspect of biological, ecological, environmental, physical, chemical, computer or similar science field

Minimum Requirements

  • Valid US Driver's License or International Driver's permit
  • Ability to travel overnight during summer
  • Experience with data entry, database management, or coding in any platform (e.g. Excel, Python, Linnex, R) to be described in the cover letter
  • Interest in any aspect of biological, ecological, environmental, physical, chemical, computer or similar science field to be described in cover letter.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
