Consulting Senior Manager, Data Management & Strategy, Life Science Sector

The Opportunity

EY is making significant investments in its award-winning Data Management & Strategy practice tailored for the Life Science sector. In this role, you will assist our clients in developing their data management strategic vision and executing that vision to capitalize on future opportunities, scale for growth, and mitigate risks. You will bring deep sector-focused insights and advanced knowledge of business drivers to help our clients navigate the complex world of modern data management, data governance, data quality, analytics products, data science, data-risk management, and emerging data technological developments. You will play a crucial role in helping EY develop and deploy data management frameworks, support data strategy design, go-to-market strategy, playbook design, and craft thought-leadership. Your Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Manager specializing in Data Management & Strategy for the Life Science sector, you will lead a team of junior members and collaborate with a diverse client base to articulate, formulate, and implement their data management strategies. Your responsibilities will include establishing data management frameworks, governance and risk management strategies, data operating models, defining appropriate data solutions and tools, and overseeing the strategic design, development, and scaling of data capabilities within client environments. You will ensure that all capabilities comply with internal enterprise policies, procedures, necessary regulatory compliance, and security standards. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Leading project teams and coordinating with clients in translating strategic business objectives into actionable data management strategies.
  • Guiding clients through the development and implementation of data management strategies, governance frameworks, and operating models.
  • Being an expert on the latest Life Science technology, products, and use cases related to data management, big data, analytics, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
  • Organizing and leading EY business development for prioritized solutions, serving as a thought leader to capture new markets for business growth.
  • Leading the development of EY data solutions, assets, and accelerators in the Life Science sector.

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • A vision of how the Life Science industry will evolve with technology, innovation, and the digital landscape.
  • Expertise in designing and operationalizing comprehensive data management strategies that are secure, compliant, and efficient.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with data governance, data quality, and applying advanced data analysis algorithms.
  • Ability to lead large-scale client engagements and foster relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels.
  • Deep knowledge in Life Sciences, including drug development, personalized medicine, and patient care challenges.
  • Extensive expertise in Data Management, Strategy, and Analytics within the Life Science sector.

To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have

  • A bachelor’s degree and 8-10 years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing data management and strategy in the Life Science sector.
  • 8-10 years of professional consulting experience in business or technology consulting, developing and implementing data management and strategy solutions in the Life Science sector.
  • Strong experience working with Life Science clients.
  • Experience with Agile and/or Scrum methods of delivery for data and analytic products.

Ideally, You’ll Also Have

  • Advanced degrees in data and analytics, information systems, statistics, computer science, or related disciplines with a focus on Life Sciences.
  • Experience in leading transformation projects that support data management, business intelligence, and cloud applications at scale.

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business.  The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $142,600 to $325,800.  The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $171,100 to $370,300.  Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.  In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
  • Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
