IDEMIA
We make it safer and easier for people to pay, connect, be identified, access, travel and stay safe in the physical and digital worlds.
Since our founding, IDEMIA has been on a mission to unlock the world and make it safer through our cutting-edge identity technologies. Our technology leadership makes us the partner of choice for hundreds of governments and thousands of enterprises in over 180 countries, including some of the biggest and most influential brands in the world. In applying our unique expertise in biometrics and cryptography, we enable our clients to unlock simpler and safer ways to pay, connect, access, identify, travel and protect public places – at scale and in total security.
Our teams work from 5 continents and speak 100+ different languages. We strongly believe that our diversity is a key driver of innovation and performance.
Purpose
This role creates and industrializes data innovative solutions and services.Key Missions
- Identifies new business use cases and innovative opportunities
- Designs and creates algorithms, models, prototype-imagined products or solutions on diverse and worldwide datasets
- Analyzes data by coding within quality standards and responsible on its application among the Data Scientists
- Develops solutions under an industrialization target and quality level
Responding to calls for tender is an exciting business exercise, as it requires us to cover a wide spectrum of skills and knowledge in what is often a very limited time. This exercise often mobilizes an entire team with varied and complementary responsibilities. The tenders published are diverse, but have many points in common, in addition to the legal obligations imposed in this profession.
The current tendering process is therefore highly complex, and although it has been optimized, the aim is to explore how the use of supervised models can further improve it. The aim of this internship is therefore to increase the efficiency of the technical and project teams by integrating generative AI solutions based on open source models, as well as industrial solutions. This efficiency will be measured by :
- time savings in the processing of a typical pre-sales test (requirements extraction and allocation/tracking, identification of problematic requirements early in the process, generation of questions to be addressed to the customer and assisted processing of answers, assistance in generating solution/answer elements based on existing libraries, generation of summaries enabling capitalization, feeding of models enabling us to perfect our budget estimates, ....)
- the quality of the deliverable produced by the model.
- ease of use and maintenance.
You will be involved in the evaluation of models already built, but may, after sufficient analysis, participate in the implementation of the chosen AI engine. After a phase in which the needs of the various players are collected, a study of the proposed solutions will be carried out. This study will include the validation and/or improvement of a test dataset. The study will lead to a conclusion as to the suitability of the solutions studied to the need. Finally, the chosen solution can be integrated and deployed on an industrial scale in the Business Line environment.
Profile & Other Information
- Student in an engineering school or a Master's (M2) student specializing in Artificial Intelligence and/or Data Science.
Skills required:
- Knowledge of classical supervised predictive models
- Experience with predictive models and their evaluation in a business context by well-defined metrics, and possible proposal of such metrics
- Experience with the main generative AI models (GPT-4, Claude, Mistral, Llama)
- Mastery of data science tools (Python, TF, PyTorch...)
- Good teamwork, technical and business communication skills
- Willingness to invest in understanding Idemia solutions, so as to be able to quickly assess the relevance of the elements generated and acquire autonomy in the development of tools.
Optional skills (which may be developed during this internship) :
- Interest in the technical-commercial sector
- Notions of MLOps - DevOps applied to Machine Learning - with knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Ansible, GitHub Actions..
As part of this internship, you will be integrated into a team of 5 system architects whose role is to build technical solutions that meet the needs expressed by our customers in the public safety sector. You will also interact with our teams in charge of drafting our responses to calls for tender.
By choosing to work at IDEMIA, you will join a unique tech company, offering a wide range of growth opportunities. You will contribute to a safer world, collaborating with an international and global community. We value the diversity of our teams and welcome people from all walks of life, regardless of how they look, where they come from, who they love, or what they think.
We deliver cutting edge, future proof innovation that reach the highest technological standards and we’re transforming, fast, to stay a leader in a world that’s changing fast, too.
At IDEMIA, people can develop their expertise and feel a sense of ownership and empowerment, in a global environment, as part of a company with the ambition and the ability to change the world.
