POSITION SUMMARY:
Our Redmond based client is seeking a Software engineer for a Remote position in the USA.
You'll lead the architecture, building, and management of scalable internal infrastructure, covering everything from provisioning Azure resources and implementing lightweight CI/CD pipelines, to ensuring compliance with stringent security standards in close partnership with our organization's dedicated security engineer. This role uniquely combines innovation, platform engineering, and design-focused developer experience.

Responsibilities
- Platform Architecture & Automation:
- Architect, build, and manage a user-friendly internal platform allowing the design organization to rapidly prototype and distribute internal experiences and tools with minimal overhead.
- Define clear standards and best practices—from repository management and version control hygiene to rapid deployment processes—helping elevate the team's overall developer experience and infrastructure efficiency.
- Identify and automate manual infrastructure tasks through intuitive scripting and automation, enabling easy self-service and skill-building for team members who are expanding their development capabilities.
- Azure Infrastructure Provisioning & Management:
- Rapidly provision, configure, and proactively monitor Azure resources, including Web Apps, Azure VMs, Azure Container Instances, and Azure AI services (e.g., provisioning AI project resources, managing API access,configuring secure access).
- Design, implement, and maintain lightweight CI/CD pipelines tailored specifically to internal prototyping workflows.Collaborate closely with our dedicated security engineer (in a partner organization) to promptly address and resolve security compliance flags, ensuring all resources consistently adhere to rapidly evolving company-widesecurity standards.
- Actively monitor and optimize Azure infrastructure spend, leveraging Azure cost-management dashboards to ensure infrastructure usage remains within budget constraints.
- Designer & Developer Experience:
- Act as the primary support partner, providing guidance and quickly resolving infrastructure, build, distribution, and related technical challenges for design prototypers and UX engineers.
- Develop clear, practical documentation and proactively share knowledge across the org to foster transparency and self-sufficiency.
- Custom Tooling & General Development:
- Build Internal Tools & Connectors: Create internal tooling, integrations, and applications (e.g., Figma plugins, analytics dashboards, prototypes) that streamline designer workflows. This now includes building connectors and services to leverage AI resources (such as Azure OpenAI or other AI APIs) to unlock new creative and automation possibilities for design teams.
- Upskilling & Workflow Support: Provide training, documentation, and handson support for design prototypers and UX engineers looking to integrate AI into their projects. Help them navigate best practices for data handling, prompt engineering, and model management to empower more advanced, AI-driven prototypes.
- Co-Development & Experimentation: Partner with prototypers and UX engineers to build and iterate on experimental features that incorporate generative AI and other ML services—ensuring rapid, secure, and efficient delivery of internal AI-driven experiences.
- Design, code, test, document, implement, and maintain application programs and interfaces.
- Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
- Modify, install, and prepare technical documentation for system software applications.
- Monitor systems capacity and performance, plan and execute disaster recovery procedures, and provide technical support.Identify, escalate and document production impact issues.
- Evaluate user requests for new or modified computer programs to determine feasibility, cost, time required and compatibility with current systems and capabilities.
Qualifications
- Must have 5-7 years related work experience.
- Must have 5-7 years experience with Azure resources.
- Must have 5-7 years experience with Azure AI studio.
- Must have 5-7 years experience with Azure DevOps.
- Should have bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or a related field required.
- Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Should have ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
- Should have ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue.
- Should have knowledge of computer hardware and software.
- Should have knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles.
- Should have knowledge of computer development software as it relates to systems, such as SQL, VisualBasic, etc.
- Expertise with COBOL, MVS, CICS, JCL, or other mainframe tools and utilities.
Technical Experience:
- Proven hands-on experience across DevOps, Platform Engineering, and Software Development.
- Strong experience with Azure cloud infrastructure, including provisioning resources and securely managing Azure AI services.
- Strong experience with Azure DevOps, including pipelines, repositories, and artifact management.
- Proficiency with Python, Node.js, and YAML.
- Proficiency with modern web development frameworks such as React or Next.js.
- Proficiency with creating, managing, and deploying configuration and automation scripts.
- Familiarity with Docker and containerization practices to support rapidprototyping and deployment.

- A competitive pay range of $50/hr - $55/hr (depending on experience).
- Position Location: Remote - USA
- 15 days per year of Paid Time Off (PTO).
