Job Description: As a Data Analytics Intern at Cigna, you will focus on

performing sentiment analysis and clustering of Customer & Provider complaints from both internal and external sources. You will research and gather data from various platforms, analyse sentiment, identify patterns, and highlight key areas for improvement. You will also develop a machine learning model that continuously processes new data to provide ongoing insights. developing an algorithm for a provider search tool that allows patients to find relevant doctors, hospitals, and clinics based on symptoms, parts of the body, specific pain areas which will link to the correct specialty. The algorithm must utilize publicly available references of diseases from sources such ICD, the World Health Organization (WHO) and other databases

Expected Outcome: A comprehensive sentiment analysis of customer complaints with actionable insights on key areas for improvement and a machine learning model that continuously processes new data & A functional provider search tool that accurately matches patient inputs with relevant healthcare specialties, utilizing publicly available disease references

Responsibilities:

  • Data Collection: Gather complaints data from internal sources (e.g., customer service records, feedback forms) and external sources (e.g., social media, review sites) and publicly available references of diseases from sources like WHO
  • Data Cleaning: Clean and preprocess the data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA): Perform EDA to understand the data distribution and identify initial sentiment patterns.
  • Sentiment Analysis: Use natural language processing (NLP) techniques to analyse the sentiment of complaints.
  • Algorithm Development: Develop an algorithm that matches patient inputs (symptoms, body parts, pain areas) with relevant healthcare specialties.
  • Pattern Identification: Identify recurring themes and key areas of concern from the sentiment analysis.
  • Algorithm Development: Develop a machine learning model that can continuously process new data and update sentiment analysis results.
  • Visualization: Create visualizations to present findings to stakeholders, such as dashboards or reports.
  • Reporting: Compile a detailed report summarizing the analysis, findings, and recommendations.

Skills:

  • Analytics, Python, ETL, Machine Learning libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn), Problem Solving

Qualifications:

  • Recent graduates with skills in Analytics, Python, ETL, Machine Learning, and Problem Solving.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Python and data analysis libraries.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present findings clearly.
