Overview

As a Senior Engineer (f/m/x) you'll be part of a team building a strategic data platform that consolidates terabytes of data from 50+ systems. This data is then distributed in a unified way to systems supporting mission-critical business use cases across the Bank. We have both end of day batch use cases with strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and near-real time intraday processing. This data must be of highest quality and available in a timely manner across multiple strategic interfaces: Kafka, REST API, BigQuery, GCS.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and develop data platform using the Google Cloud stack (DataProc/Spark, BigQuery, GCS, etc.)

  • Understand and extend microservices code in Java/Kotlin to support use cases on top of data

  • Lead by example through the quality of your technical deliveries

  • Collaborate, maintain clear and open communication with the team, and share experience with entire Engineering organization

  • Designing hybrid solutions for on-prem and cloud use cases that use Terraform to manage infrastructure

How You’ll Lead

  • Guide and mentor a dynamic team, fostering collaboration and driving innovative software solutions

  • Collaborate closely with Tribe Leads to ensure alignment between engineering and business needs, Work directly with Product Owners to define clear business outcomes and ensure the engineering team delivers them

  • Partner with Lead Architects to ensure solutions are technically sound, scalable, and aligned with architectural principles

Skills You’ll Need

  • Strong hands-on expertise in Scala, Java, or Kotlin

  • Strong Structured Query Language (SQL) knowledge

  • Experience in design/development of scalable, available, resilient, and observable large scale data processing applications

  • Experience in thoroughly testing software applications via unit, integration, end-to-end, load testing, and ability to discuss when and where to use each of these

  • Experience in system performance analysis and tuning

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Knowledge about data processing in Google Cloud Platform (or any other cloud)

  • Experience building hybrid applications spanning from on-prem to cloud

  • Strong Terraform knowledge and infrastructure design skills

  • You stay current on technical trends to suggest innovative tools and approaches to interesting problems

  • You share your expertise with the entire Engineering organization

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $125,000 to $203,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
