You will manage the integration of data governance tools across our technology stack, such as Azure Tool Stacks and Databricks. This position involves close collaboration with the Platform Engineer Team, Advanced Analytics Team, and Business Tower Stakeholders within Group Functions and globally. The ideal candidate ensures data reliability and accessibility, demonstrating it strategically for all.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust data governance frameworks to ensure data integrity, quality, and accessibility, bringing to bear Azure Tool Stacks, Databricks, Informatica, and other relevant platforms.
- Lead the integration and operationalization of data governance tools and practices, aligning initiatives with strategic business objectives in collaboration with multi-functional teams.
- Engineer and enforce data quality controls and monitoring systems, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Develop and maintain metadata management solutions to improve data discoverability, usability, and security, while providing expert mentorship to data users and producers.
- Advance and manage comprehensive data lineage transformation for full transparency and traceability of data flows, ensuring data can be brought to bear as a strategic asset.
- Strengthen data governance capabilities by continuously developing data governance practices, staying up-to-date on standard methodologies and new technologies.
- Implement role-based access controls and data masking techniques to safeguard sensitive information and maintain data privacy.

What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in data governance, data management, or data engineering roles with a strong understanding of data governance frameworks.
- Proficient in using data governance tools and technologies, particularly within Azure, Databricks, and Informatica environments.
- Experience with data cataloging, metadata management, and data lineage tools to enhance data discoverability and transparency.
- Strong Phyton & SQL skills, experience with data modeling, database design, and ETL processes.
- Proficiency in data security and privacy standard methodologies, like role-based access control and data masking techniques.
- Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to streamline data governance processes.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multi-functional teams and globally to align data governance initiatives with business objectives and ensure regulatory compliance.

HybridSalary range is expected to be between
$94,220.00 CAD - $174,980.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
