Specialist, Insights & Analytics Innovation

  • The salary range for this role is:  $212,000 - $398,000

The Opportunity

The North America Data Organization is responsible for developing and implementing organizational data strategy, leading data and analytics capabilities to enable better business outcomes, and driving productization and innovation of data usage across QBE NA. The team ensures that QBE NA leverages data as a driver for business value enablement through effective collaboration across our business and functional teams.

The Specialist, Insights & Analytics Innovation will be responsible for translating complex data inputs into clear and actionable insights for business and functional teams to support the achievement of strategic NA business objectives. This role will support broader efforts ensure the successful delivery and continued optimization of best-in-class data analytics products, services and solutions to support business and functional teams. This is a highly collaborative role, expected to work in close partnership with business and functional stakeholders, NA Data, IT, and data science teams.

Your New Role

  • Develop and refine analytical use cases with internal business customers in alignment with Analytics leads and partners
  • Play an active role in projects of diverse scope, range, priority and urgency within the insurance domain
  • Translate between business and analytical problems
  • Interrogate and interpret data and models to formulate, evaluate and iterate hypotheses quickly
  • Integrate, format and present relevant analyses and data visualizations to communicate results, findings and recommendations to business users
  • Support Data & Analytics colleagues and business stakeholders as an Analytics expert
  • Direct the work of onshore and offshore analytics and data science projects
  • Plan own activities for each sprint, accurately estimating effort for stories/tasks
  • Ensure compliance with QBE policies and procedures and relevant legislation
  • Share knowledge and contribute reusable practices and techniques within and beyond the team

Required Education: 

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Required Experience: 

  • 3+ years relevant experience

Preferred Competencies/Skills

Bachelor to Postgraduate Degree in a Quantitative field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics,

  • Experience in producing insights from large datasets
  • Analytics experience with tools like R, Python, Stata, SAS
  • Collaborative analytics project experience

Compensation Package: The salary range for this role is provided above. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate’s professional background, including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE’s annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance.
