We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our Digital Technology & Change team in our Solihull office on a hybrid basis. As a crucial team member, you will play a key role in shaping and implementing the nPower Business Solutions (nBS) strategy to enhance the digital customer and colleague experience. Join us in our transition towards a Product led DevOps model and contribute to shaping our operational approach and capabilities as we expand our business. nBS is the E.ON Industrial and Commercial (I&C) area of EON and a market leader in the energy retail sector. I&C is a £7 billion revenue business serving c30,000 customers and approximately 250,000 meter points with a view to becoming the number one B2B energy supplier in the UK. As a key member of the Data Team at E.ON, you will work closely with the Head of Data develop our Data Science strategy and closely with the business teams to identify and execute data science use cases. You will be responsible for enhancing machine learning methods, creating predictive models for customer behaviour, energy consumption, and extracting valuable insights from trading data.

Here's what you'll be doing

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of customer behaviour and portfolio.
  • Prepare data meticulously for modelling and analysis.
  • Collaborate with business and data owners to identify data science opportunities.
  • Interpret and present analytical findings effectively.
  • Engage stakeholders in data delivery automation.
  • Inspire the business with new data management capabilities.
  • Enhance internal data solutions and productivity across the organisation.

What we need from you

  • Forward-thinking with a focus on scalability and future opportunities.
  • Proficiency in data handling and analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in data analysis or machine learning.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and tools like SQL, Python, or R.
  • Experience in the energy sector is preferred.
  • Familiarity with statistical data evaluation tools such as SAS, Jupyter, etc.
