Grow your career by supporting our IntelliFLEX  product team. This team is working to manage distributed energy resources to bring a higher level of stability to the grid and grow the reliability of energy delivery. This position is embedded with our IntelliFLEX Data Science team, which develops and puts into production Machine Learning (ML) modules for IntelliFLEX. These ML modules enable utilities to effectively monitor and actively manage Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) such as electric vehicles (EVs), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and other DERs.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine new Machine Learning models for our IntelliFLEX application

  • Machine Learning Engineering: Python software development to serve our models in Azure production systems, and maintain these systems over time

  • Advanced data analysis of moderate to large-sized data sets (10s to 100s of GB)

  • Reviewing and analyzing data from production machine learning systems, and exploring methods to improve algorithms to be more performative

  • Leading and supporting product planning meetings and the process of product development

  • Partner with data scientists, software engineers, product line managers and other stakeholders

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3-6 years of related data experience, preference for supporting new and growing products and services

  • Ability to code in Python at an advanced level

  • Experience with statistical methods and data analysis

  • Experience with machine learning

  • Experience using Azure, Azure AI/ML workspaces, command line, and production-grade machine learning systems

  • Professional workplace communication skills

  • Available to work 40 hours per week

  • Available to work hybrid schedule, 1-2 days per week in office at Itron headquarters in Liberty Lake, WA, and flexibility to work remote

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Advanced related coursework or experience in statistics, data science, and/or software engineer

  • Understanding of power systems and electrical engineering

Liberty Lake WA: Annual Salary $75k - $148K
