The products our portfolio include Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, and Power BI. Our mission is to build the data platform for the age of AI, powering a new class of data-first applications and driving a data culture.
Within Azure Data, the Insights and Analytics team is building and maintaining internal analytics and reporting platform running on Microsoft Fabric to provide instant insights to the Azure Data engineering team leadership, Product Managers and Engineers. The team also acts as a first customer of newly developed products and features running them in a production environment while working together with product managers and engineers on providing product development feedback.
The Engineering team within the Azure Data Insights and Analytics organization is primarily responsible for maintaining and evolving our data platform. The platform is based on Microsoft Fabric Lakehouses, Pipelines, Notebooks and Semantic models. Our team prioritizes code reduction, metadata driven orchestration, and proper source control.
We are looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer who can work on evolving our platform with new technologies while also working towards ensuring reliable and performant operations.

Leads the design of a data model that is appropriate for the project and prepares design specification documents to model the flow and storage of data for a data pipeline. Identifies data sources and in collaboration with the data engineering team builds code to extract raw data from identified upstream sources. Plans and creates efficient semantic models to support standard reporting and ad hoc analytics needs. Performs root cause analysis in response to detected problems/anomalies to identify the reason for alerts and implement solutions that minimize points of failure. Anticipates the need for data governance and designs data modeling and data handling procedures, with direct support and partnership with Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs, to ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies across all aspects of the data pipeline.
