We are looking for a detail-oriented Business Data Analyst to support quality and process improvement by producing key department measurements for internal and external reporting. The role involves data quality assurance, process programming, specification documentation, and report development.
You will use your technical skills to gather requirements, design, and generate ad hoc and production reports, which may evolve into complex data analysis and integration projects. You will also collaborate with the FPG Decision Support Services and Health Outcome & Analysis teams to ensure accurate report production and maintenance on a regular basis.
You will:
- Produce department measurements for internal and external reporting, ensuring accuracy and alignment with performance metrics.
- Develop and maintain ad hoc or production reports, with an emphasis on data integration and complex data analysis.
- Write and maintain data queries for ad hoc and ongoing health care measures.
- Interpret both written and verbal specifications from department staff to obtain detailed information for creating data queries and reports.
- Ensure accurate reporting on health care outcomes and performance measures, comparing them to established targets or national benchmarks (e.g., NCQA, CDC).
- Apply and/or develop technical specifications for healthcare measures as outlined by regulatory bodies such as CMS, DHCS, and NCQA.
- Serve as a key resource for application use within the department, offering support for quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless data flow and report accuracy.
Salary Range: $76,200-$158,800/annually
Job Qualifications

We’re seeking a self-directed, analytical individual with:
- A bachelor’s degree in health sciences, information systems, mathematics, statistics, or related and/or equivalent relevant experience
- Master’s degree in a related field is preferred
- 3-5 years of experience of healthcare IT experience is highly desired
- Familiarity with standard healthcare measurement frameworks and performance metrics, including those defined by HEDIS and CMS, required
- Experience with report generation using health care data with focus on elements from encounter/claims, membership and provider data, required
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with a proven ability to engage stakeholders effectively to gather and clarify business requirements.
- Strong SQL Programming Skills (MS SQL Server/Oracle platforms), required
- Proficient in solving problems using statistical methods
- Knowledge of data warehouse concepts, data structures and reporting
- 3-5 years of Epic Clarity reporting experience, highly desired
- Expertise in transforming business queries into actionable reports, visualizations, and BI query objects
