Who we are looking for

The individual in this role will be part of a team dedicated to ensuring that State Street maintains an updated universe of our legal entities, inclusive of internal and external identifiers.

The candidate will be responsible for reviewing escalation requests for new entities as well as challenges for existing entities.  Participate in the development, implementation, and enhancement of the Global Entity Management System (GEMS) / Master Data Management (MDM) while upholding strict data integrity and regulatory guidelines. This candidate will support the operations team in all locations as well as work closely with our IT and project teams to recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet system and workflow requirements. This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.

What you will be responsible for

As Data Analytics & Management, AVP you will

  • Responsible for supporting projects and internal clients to find solutions to improve customer service and provide actionable information. Responds to business needs by implementing new or changing technology
  • Configuration, Testing, Release Management – Responsible for reviewing release notes, requirements gathering & documentation, testing, and ensuring deployment plans are in place, including communication and training
  • Production Support – Monitor GEMS/MDM and address any functionality/integrations issues, performance or availability issues
  • Work directly with internal partners to research, troubleshoot, and lead resolution for integration issues in a timely manner
  • Manage incoming case queue and maintain focus on resolving entity cases quickly and effectively in line with our service level agreements
  • Collaborate with offshore partners on a daily basis to research, identify causes, validate, and issue resolutions related to entity management
  • Effectively prioritize and escalate issues as needed
  • Help identify future system enhancements or functionality that may be beneficial to the organization
  • Ensure that procedures are followed and adequate internal controls are maintained
  • Create and maintain training materials, and assist with training/communication to users

  • Ability to understand Data Models and Data Taxonomies in the context of reference data
  • Solid understanding of Data Management and Data Quality industry best practices
  • Prior Data Steward experience is preferred and/or a background in Data Governance
  • Experience in managing large reference data sets
  • Ability to articulate business requirements and bring them to fruition
  • Experience in (re)designing processes and controls

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/MIS/Computer Science or equivalent work experience to substitute for education);
  • 5-10 years of financial /financial services industry is required
  • Detailed knowledge of reference data including legal entity data is a plus.

Additional requirements

  • Familiarity with current regulatory mandates including Dodd-Frank and EMIR is preferred.
  • Candidate must be expert with the standard MS Office suite of applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and must also be fluent with MS Access.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is essential and ability to prioritize to meet established service level agreements.

  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills

Salary Range:

$90,000 - $142,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
