What you'll do...
• Define and document software/system design and requirements (feature + function) from L0 through L3 for chassis systems, including steering and braking. Feature owner from conceptualization to deployment writing performance and functional requirements at a system and subsystem level.
• Monitor and manage full system-level requirements for the overall built system and ensure that the system meets the intended requirements
• Create system requirements and subsystem requirements and define system bounds, capabilities, and functional features
• Convert customer needs into system requirements and devise operational objectives for the system as a whole.
• Work with functional safety team to make sure all aspect safety goals and requirements are captured and implemented.
• Monitor and manage validation and verification of requirements at the system and subsystem level.
• Work with project managers and integration engineers to plan new features and use cases
• Develop system architecture models using MBSE tools, such as SysML, to capture requirements, interfaces, and performance characteristics.
• Design features in an ML environment to build logical and functional architectures using behavioral diagrams, sequence diagrams and state machines.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment between system requirements and vehicle-level performance targets.
• Conduct trade-off studies and simulations to optimize chassis system performance and design choices.
• Develop and manage system requirements traceability throughout the product lifecycle.
• Define verification and validation strategies, including test plans for requirements-based testing.
• Support system safety analysis efforts, including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and functional safety (ISO 26262).
• Ensure that requirements and design documents are maintained and updated according to engineering change processes.
• Lead system-level reviews, such as design reviews, requirements reviews, and verification reviews.
• Collaborate with software and hardware teams to ensure system requirements are understood and implemented accurately.

You'll have...
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering within the automotive or related industry.
• Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles, including requirements management and systems architecture.
• Proficiency in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and techniques, such as SysML, MATLAB/Simulink, or Cameo.
• Experience with automotive communication protocols, such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
• Familiarity with vehicle dynamics and chassis control systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in trade-off analysis and system optimization.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.

Even better, you may have...
• Experience with zonal architecture and distributed control systems.
• Familiarity with electric vehicle platforms and high-voltage systems.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to safety and performance (e.g., ISO 26262, FMVSS).
