The Financial and Administrative Services office is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Data Integrity Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, supporting the maintenance and enhancement of the chart of accounts, and assisting with the implementation of internal controls. The Finance Data Integrity Analyst will work closely with business process owners, subject matter experts, and campus leadership to clean and organize financial data, track data quality issues, and contribute to accounting process improvements. This is a hybrid position with the option to work remotely part of the week.

Purpose

To provide support to the financial operations of the university by ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and quality of financial data, while contributing to process improvements and compliance with internal accounting policies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data analysis on financial chart of accounts data to ensure accuracy.
  • Identify, document, and track finance data quality issues.
  • Coordinate with business owners, subject matter experts, and campus representatives to clean existing data and upload new data.
  • Periodic reviews of accounting transactions to ensure accuracy and adherence to UT Accounting policies.
  • Assist with the implementation of internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist with accounting clean-up efforts by identifying data attributes that are redundant or no longer needed.
  • Assist with documentation of the accounting chart of accounts and related business processes.
  • Contribute insights and recommendations to enhance data quality

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in analyzing large quantities of data.
  • Strong proficiency with analytical tools, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience analyzing and documenting business requirements, workflows, rules and processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in accuracy and attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem solving.
  • Undergraduate degree in business or a related field, such as finance, economics, marketing, math, information technology, or computer science

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data analytic and reporting programs (e.g., PowerBI, Cognos, Tableau).
  • Familiarity with University of Texas at Austin’s Accounting system (DEFINE).
  • Work experience in a higher education or government environment.

Salary Range

$70,000 + depending on qualifications
