Position Overview

Apollo Global Management is seeking an individual to work as a Business & Data Operations Strategist within its Enterprise Data organization. This team provides drives strategic business impact by aligning data initiatives with business priorities.  The Enterprise Data organization works closely with Engineering, Operations, Transformation to enable key Apollo businesses on the adoption of data products and business intelligence tools. We partner cross-functionally to enable the firm to successfully execute on key strategic initiatives, to problem solve for complex objectives, and to provide central expertise around data strategy, governance, quality and operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the CDAO and team on diverse projects involving Data and Analytics – ability to understand business use cases and then connect the dots through data and analytics solutions involving data product, engineering and governance will be a key differentiator

  • Help track the overall execution plan for the multi-year Data Strategy and Execution roadmap

  • Drive regular communications with project sponsors and steering committees, including executive-level stakeholders

  • Serve as go-to person for a given project (or projects), responsible for overall implementation of the project according to projected timelines, scope, budget, and KPIs

  • Institute best practices in project management, cross-functional communication, and establishing a framework for communicating target state or strategic vision

  • Conduct process analysis, including documentation of current-state processes and associated pain points, along with actionable and measurable improvement recommendations

  • Take on ad hoc requests and special projects as needed (including executive presentations, financial analysis, etc.)

Qualifications & Experience

  • 2+ years of proven experience, preferably in some mix of consultant/project-management capacity 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, MBA (optional) 

  • Critical thinker with strong quantitative, qualitative, and analytical skills who express their thoughts and ideas clearly both in oral and written communications 

  • Experience with owning projects and leading diverse collaborators, often with competing priorities 

  • Superior executive-level presentation skills – able to distill complicated, multi-faceted issues into the key items to bring to leadership’s attention 

  • Collaborative problem solver who can also work independently, multitask, and prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced and environment 

  • Proactive and organized self-starter with a positive demeanor, powerful work ethic, and strong attention to detail 

  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint 

  • Financial Services / Asset Management experience strongly preferred, with specific experience working on software development and implementation projects related to data and analytics 

  • Experience using Python to support data management and operations outcomes is a plus

  • Strong functional skills using SQL and other database technologies 

  • Demonstrated track record utilizing tools like Power BI, Tableau, Looker or Qlik to build clean, easy to digest data visualizations that simplify business analytics 

  • Ability to understand issues and provide well thought solutions while uncovering patterns and trends in the data 

  • Experience maintaining data management systems, coordinating numerous data sources/applications while managing internal and external parties 

  • Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills, including the ability to resolve internal differences and maintain confidentiality across a broad range of topics 

  • Ability to bridge gaps between development teams and business teams 

  • Forward-thinking and flexible to balance multiple tasks simultaneously and pivot focus as needed while keeping key collaborators of all levels engaged and advised 

  • Understanding of software development lifecycle and different methodologies including Agile 

Pay Range

85,000 - 100,000

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
