Job Description

The HR Systems & Data Specialist is the subject matter expert on Indigo’s HR system (UKG), with a primary accountability for system maintenance, along with identifying and delivering on process improvements.  In its first year, this role will be accountable for setting and implementing Indigo’s HR Technology roadmap, functioning as the primary integrator of new UKG modules to Indigo’s existing suite.  Reporting to the Director, Total Rewards & HR Technology, the incumbent will likewise develop and generate dashboards and analytics in collaboration with cross-functional and HR partners to guide strategic decisions.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Functional

  • Administer, maintain and troubleshoot the HR system (UKG) and associated integrations on a day-to-day basis, supporting user needs, responding to inquiries, addressing issues experienced by users or system issues
  • Serve as an escalation point for HR and Payroll teams on researching and resolving system or integration issues and unexpected results or process flaws
  • Prepare and execute system updates, rolling out new features and functionalities to optimize performance and usability
  • Conduct on-going system audits to proactively identify and mitigate risks
  • Collaborate with the UKG support team to configure, implement, test, and maintain additional modules, ensuring their successful introduction to the business as part of the HR technology roadmap
  • Support payroll team to ensure smooth operation of all year-end reconciliation processes
  • Ensure data quality, control, integrity and security of all configurations within the system
  • Act as a subject matter expert on HR system-related issues and provide training and support to end-users
  • Evaluate HR system functionality to recommend enhancements for system effectiveness on an ongoing basis
  • Participate in various HR projects to provide technical HR system support
  • Ensure data accuracy through routine data audits and validation
  • Build intelligence and insights from people data by preparing dashboards on workforce metrics for leadership teams and stakeholders.   Support ad hoc reporting requests as necessary

Qualifications

Qualifications / Experience

  • 3+ years of experience with HR Systems Administration and implementation, particularly UKG
  • Expertise in data analysis using tools such as Cognos BI, and programming languages such as SQL
  • Strong technical and functional knowledge of HR systems and integrations.
  • Proven ability to communicate technical details in a clear and usable form to end users
  • Knowledgeable regarding relevant legislation
  • Experience in the retail/customer service industry preferred 
  • Demonstrated experience with understanding HR program principles and practices
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, IT and/or Business Administration or a related field preferred

  • A solution-oriented individual with exceptional attention to detail, comfortable in a fast-paced, confidential environment  
  • Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office products, with a focus on Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Customer focused with the ability to manage multiple priorities at one time while delivering result
