Job Description

The Real Assets Engineering Team is looking for a Lead Business Analyst with experience in data analysis and workflow design. The successful candidate will be experienced in working closely with business partners to gather and document detailed requirements and help iteratively provide solutions. This position requires someone with high attention to detail, ownership, and strong analytical & problem-solving skills. The candidate is expected to possess working knowledge in data analytics and financial reporting, coupled with the ability to translate business requirements into solutions. The position also requires experience in SQL to create efficient queries and/or views to support the building of reports within the Real  Assets suite of applications.

Accountabilities:

• Facilitate requirements gathering sessions. Document and validate results with subject matter experts and drive the creation of strong system specifications that enable the development and/or acquisition of appropriate systems to meet business requirements.
• Build current and target state process design flows, identifying efficiencies and leveraging the capability of digital resources.
• Liaise with engineers, solution architects and business subject matter experts to brainstorm and document innovative solution alternatives. Evaluate alternatives relative to business requirements and provide guidance that is rooted in solid subject matter expertise.
• Lead process design meetings and translate outcomes into process documentation. Conduct process walkthroughs and validation with business subject matter experts. Document key risks, mitigating controls, performance measures, cost drivers and business continuity plans for processes.
• Lead and participate in testing activities to ensure that the deliverables meet business requirements.
• Lead change management, user adoption and training efforts for new processes or applications.
• Engage in production issue resolution, including conducting root cause analysis, by coordinating internally and externally.
• Participate in the scrum master role rotation within the team, facilitating scrum ceremonies, removing roadblocks, and promoting effective communication and collaboration within the team.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of business requirements, functional specifications, and project deliverables. Generate reports and updates for stakeholders, executive leadership, and project sponsors to communicate project status, risks, and issues.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, working directly with the business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams to build complex solutions in the financial/investment industry
• 5+ years of experience and working with relational database technologies (e.g. Oracle, MS SQL Server or AWS Athena). Proficiency with SQL is a must.
• Experience working as a Scrum Master within an engineering team is a plus.
• Ability to perform data mapping, blending and ETL design using available programming languages.
• Ability to develop Data Visualizations using Python and/or Tableau is a plus.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent credentials in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Data Visualization or relevant discipline with a strong appetite for quantitative and statistical data.
• Proven process development skills and solid understanding of project life cycle and the capability to apply best practices knowledge to unique and dynamic situations.
• Proven ability to liaise with business subject matters in gathering of business requirements.
• Exceptional (written and verbal) communication skills and interpersonal skills.
