Who We’re Looking For (Position Overview):Spry is seeking a Data Analytics Lead to join our team supporting a government contract in Washington, DC. In this role, you will oversee junior and mid-level data scientists, guiding them in developing and implementing techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software. Key responsibilities include applying data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to analyze large structured and unstructured datasets. You will also oversee the visualization, interpretation, and reporting of data findings, and the creation of dynamic data reports. What Your Day-To-Day Looks Like (Position Responsibilities):

  • As a Data Analytics Lead overseeing junior and mid-level data scientists, your role encompasses a variety of critical tasks to ensure the effective management and oversight of data analytics operations. Your responsibilities include:
  • Guiding Development and Implementation: Oversee the development and implementation of techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software.
  • Data Mining and Modeling: Apply data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Data Visualization and Interpretation: Supervise the visualization, interpretation, and reporting of data findings to ensure clarity and actionable insights.
  • Dynamic Reporting: Guide the creation of dynamic data reports that effectively communicate complex data insights.
  • Technical Support and Leadership: Provide technical support and leadership to junior and mid-level data scientists, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate data analytics activities across various stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of data analytics processes with established procedures and regulations.
  • Training and Development: Conduct training sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of data scientists regarding new analytics techniques and tools.
  • Strategic Recommendations: Develop and propose strategic recommendations based on data analysis to support decision-making processes.
  • Application of Data Science Principles: Interpret and apply data science principles, techniques, and best practices to drive organizational success.

What You Need to Succeed (Minimum Requirements):

  • Bachelor's degree in math, science, engineering, or related field
  • 10 years of professional experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience training other data analytics contractors to ensure their competency.
  • Supervisory skills to oversee other data analytics contractors to ensure their satisfactory support.

Ideally, You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Master's degree in math, science, engineering, or related field
