Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a depth of experience in building and maintaining data infrastructure, including data lakes, data warehouses, and data pipelines. This position will play a critical role in ensuring our data's accuracy, security, and accessibility for business insights and decision-making.
This is a hybrid remote and in-office position located in the River North area of Chicago, IL.
What You'll Do
- Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using AWS toolset, Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, etc
- Manage and ensure the seamless integration of data connections from systems like Netsuite, OpenAir, Salesforce, and other platforms.
- Oversee and maintain our data lake and data warehouse in AWS/Snowflake.
- Design and produce production-quality dashboards using Tableau.
- Leverage functionality for advanced analytics and calculations within Tableau dashboards.
- Monitor and ensure the highest data quality across all pipelines and databases.
- Implement and uphold best practices in data engineering and data integrity.
- Actively collaborate with business teams to understand their data needs and deliver valuable insights.
- Communicate technical complexities clearly and effectively to senior teams and stakeholders.
- Be vigilant about data security, ensuring all data stored, processed, or transmitted is protected against unauthorized access or breaches.
What You'll Bring
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in data engineering or related field.
- Expertise in SQL and Python.
- Extensive experience with ETL/ELT tools and processes.
- Proficient in dashboard building using Tableau or Power BI.
- Solid experience in AWS, particularly in its data solutions, and Snowflake or similar.
- Demonstrated expertise in data warehousing techniques and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in collaborative teams.
- Strong communication skills to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A commitment to continuous professional development in the rapidly evolving world of data technology.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
