What Are We Looking For?

We are seeing a Senior Manager, BI Data Engineering & Architecture to lead the design development, and optimization of our data infrastructure and analytics platforms. This role will be responsible for managing a team of data analysts and engineers, ensuring the delivery of scalable, high-performance data products that support business intelligence and analytics initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in data architecture, cloud-based data platforms, and BI tools, with a strong focus on governance, security, and performance optimization.

Data Architecture & Engineering Leadership

• Design and implement scalable data architectures, including data warehouses, and real-time data processing pipelines.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to support data ingestion, transformation, and integration from multiple sources.
• Optimize data models to enhance performance and usability for BI, analytics, and self-service.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data platforms.

Team Management & Collaboration

• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers and analysts, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Work cross-functionally to align data strategies with organizational goals.

Technology & Performance Optimization

• Oversee the implementation and administration of cloud-based data and business intelligence platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Tableau, Fivetran, dbt).
• Optimize query performance, indexing, and partitioning to improve data retrieval efficiency.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for data engineering workflows to ensure seamless deployment and automation.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies in data engineering, analytics, and AI/ML integration.

Governance, Security & Compliance

• Establish and enforce data governance policies, including role-based access controls and compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
• Monitor and troubleshoot data security risks, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
• Implement data lineage, metadata management, and auditing frameworks.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or BI development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong expertise in data modeling, database design, and data warehousing concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, or Java for data processing and automation.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools including dbt and Fivetran.
• Familiarity with implementing CI/CD pipelines for data engineering.
• Knowledge of BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI) and analytics workflows.
• Familiarity with machine learning workflows and their integration with data platforms.
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working on a highly-collaborative, global team, across multiple time zones.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
