How you’ll power our business as a Data Engineering Manager

We are looking for a talented, experienced and proactive Data Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role managing our data platforms, integrating data from across the Flogas group of businesses, and providing insights and information to drive business value. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the centre of a major project to implement the Microsoft Fabric platform, working closely with Sales and Operational teams, as well as learning from Fabric consultants deploying the solution. Your work will focus on leveraging data to solve real-world challenges and deliver measurable results.

Here at Flogas, we may have a fossil fuels background, but we’re working towards delivering 100% renewable energy to our customers by 2040. We’re already supporting our customers to reduce their carbon emissions, by helping them make the switch from oil to gas. We’re also developing our offering for technologies such as heat pumps and solar panels, beginning to help our customers reduce their energy consumption and evolving new bio-fuels and renewable gases. What we’ll need from you

• Proven experience in a business intelligence or data analysis role (preferably within energy, but not essential) with a strong focus on operational performance and efficiency.
• Experience creating dynamic dashboards and reports.
• Proficiency in data analysis, spotting trends, and providing insights
• Knowledge/experience of data science solutions
• Demonstrable leadership skills, leading either a functional or technology within an organisation.
• The successful candidate will bring an operational mindset, with the ability to understand business processes, collaborate effectively with operational teams, and deliver solutions that drive customer decision making, performance and efficiency. With a strong focus on attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive, self-motivated approach, you will play a critical role in driving data driven decision making, innovation and continuous improvement within the business.
• You will also excel in data visualization and data storytelling, translating complex information into clear, impactful insights and reports. With strong technical skills in tools like Python and Power BI, and excellent SQL skills you will own, maintain and develop the Microsoft Fabric solution to empower our teams to take data-driven actions that continuously improve customer and business outcomes.
