Corporate Intern

Overview

We're seeking a motivated Data Science Intern to join our Insights, Data & Analytics (IDA) team. In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience applying data science techniques to real business challenges in the propane industry, while collaborating with experienced professionals who will mentor you throughout your internship. This internship will begin in June of 2025 and will be 10-12 weeks, dependent on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and prepare data for advanced analytics
• Perform exploratory data analysis to understand key attributes of data prior to analysis
• Developing machine learning models in collaboration with other data scientists, analytics professionals, and business users
• Create visualizations and presentations to communicate findings
• Perform analysis to identifying trends and patterns in customer data
• Contribute to reports and presentations for internal stakeholders

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field
• Basic programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages
• Knowledge of machine learning fundamentals
• Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts
• Attention to detail
• Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SQL
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
• Previous coursework or projects in data science or analytics
